Mother Alleges Sabalgarh SDM Harasses Daughter, Collector Takes Immediate Action

A woman from Chandan Nagar, Gwalior, reached the Collectorate on Tuesday accompanied by her brother-in-law, accusing Sabalgarh SDM Arvind Mahor of harassing her family. The woman reportedly threatened to take her own life if justice was not delivered. Originally from Sabalgarh, she now resides in Gwalior with her family.

According to the woman, the SDM allegedly sent obscene messages to her daughter daily over the phone. When her daughter confronted him, he reportedly summoned her brother-in-law to his residence in Sabalgarh and threatened him. The brother-in-law recorded the encounter, which later went viral on social media.

Interestingly, the memorandum submitted to the Collector mistakenly accused the family of harassment instead of the SDM. Taking the matter seriously, the Collector removed SDM Arvind Mahor from his post and appointed him as Deputy Collector in the Collectorate. Megha Tiwari has been appointed as the new SDM of Sabalgarh.

The woman’s brother-in-law detailed an incident on September 5, when SDM Mahor visited his shop and threatened him, saying, “I called you to my residence, why didn’t you come? Come quietly, or I’ll ruin your family.” Upon visiting the SDM’s bungalow, the brother-in-law alleges that he was verbally abused and threatened further.

The family claims that the SDM has been harassing the daughter for over a year, even contacting her after she changed her phone number. It is alleged that the SDM sometimes visited in disguise to continue his harassment.

This is not the first controversy involving SDM Mahor. On September 6, Tehsil peon Siyaram Adivasi accused him of assault after being summoned to his bungalow for not answering a midnight call. The police are investigating, and the peon underwent medical examination. In the past, SDM Mahor has also been involved in incidents such as allegedly breaking the phone of a private hotel guard.
