Let us tell you that 55-year-old IP Gupta is a civil engineer and businessman and runs his own political party by the name of Indian Inclusive Party. In the 2025 assembly elections, he became MLA from Saharsa seat. By getting 1 lakh 15 thousand votes, he defeated Alok Ranjan Jha of BJP by two thousand votes. IP Gupta was in the Congress party. He contested the 2020 elections as an independent candidate from Sikandra but lost. Just before the 2025 elections, after meeting Rahul Gandhi, he broke ties with the Congress party and showed his caste strength by organizing a rally of the Paan-Tanti community in Patna Gandhi Maidan. He is also the national president of the All India Paan Mahasangh.

Before the elections, he formed a new party, the IPP, and after meeting with Tejashwi Yadav, managed to secure three seats in the Grand Alliance for the 2025 elections. He won the election, while two other candidates lost. IP Gupta, a native of Patuna in Jamui district, holds an M.Tech in civil engineering from MD University, Rohtak, Haryana.
