Maruti Brezza Turbo Arrives with More Power, New Features, and Better Driving Experience

Maruti Suzuki has introduced the updated Brezza Turbo, giving one of India's most popular compact SUVs a significant performance upgrade. Along with refreshed styling and new features, the biggest highlight is the addition of a 1.0-litre Boosterjet turbo-petrol engine, making the Brezza more exciting to drive than ever before.

The latest Brezza will continue to compete with rivals such as the Tata Nexon, Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, and Mahindra XUV 3XO in the highly competitive compact SUV segment.

Turbo Engine Brings a Major Performance Boost

The standout addition is the 1.0-litre Boosterjet turbo-petrol engine, which has been retuned to produce around 108–110 bhp and 170 Nm of torque. Unlike the Fronx, where this engine is paired with a 5-speed manual transmission, the Brezza Turbo gets a new 6-speed manual gearbox, offering smoother cruising and improved highway performance.

The turbocharged engine delivers stronger low-end torque, making city driving easier with fewer gear shifts. Mid-range acceleration is also significantly better, allowing quicker and more confident overtaking on highways.

Maruti will continue to offer the familiar 1.5-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine for buyers who prefer a more relaxed driving experience or want a factory-fitted CNG option.

Refreshed Exterior Styling

While the overall design remains familiar, the updated Brezza receives several cosmetic enhancements, including:

  • New front grille design

  • Revised front bumper

  • Sharper LED headlamps

  • Turbo badging on select variants

  • New dual-tone alloy wheels

  • Updated LED tail lamps

These changes give the SUV a fresher and sportier appearance without altering its well-known design.

Premium Cabin with More Technology

The interior has also been upgraded with several convenience features to enhance the driving experience.

Key highlights include:

  • 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system

  • Wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay

  • Wireless smartphone charger

  • Leatherette upholstery

  • Improved cabin finish and premium materials

The updated infotainment system offers a more modern interface while improving connectivity for everyday use.

Practical CNG Version Gets Better Boot Space

One of the most practical improvements comes in the CNG variant. Maruti has relocated the CNG cylinder beneath the vehicle, freeing up valuable luggage space inside the boot.

This makes the Brezza CNG much more practical for families and commercial users who previously had to compromise on cargo capacity.

However, this underbody CNG setup is available only with the 1.5-litre naturally aspirated engine and is not offered with the turbo-petrol version.

Improved Safety Package

The updated Brezza also receives several important safety upgrades. According to the company, it comes with a 5-star Bharat NCAP safety rating and offers features such as:

  • Six airbags

  • Electronic Stability Program (ESP)

  • Hill Hold Assist

  • Blind Spot Monitoring

  • Rear Cross Traffic Alert

  • Front parking sensors

  • 360-degree camera

These additions enhance both active and passive safety, making the SUV more reassuring for family buyers.

Should You Consider the Brezza Turbo?

The addition of a turbocharged engine gives the Brezza a more engaging driving character while retaining its practicality, spacious cabin, and strong feature list. Buyers looking for better performance without sacrificing everyday usability may find the Brezza Turbo an attractive option.

Those prioritising fuel economy and luggage space can still opt for the 1.5-litre CNG variant, while enthusiasts will appreciate the improved acceleration and highway performance offered by the new turbo-petrol engine.

Note: Buyers should verify the final engine options, variant-wise features, transmission choices, and safety specifications with Maruti Suzuki, as these may vary depending on the official launch and market availability.
