If you use LPG or PNG, this is important news for you. Significant changes for LPG and PNG consumers will come into effect beginning in September. Changes in gas cylinder prices, LPG e-KYC, and rules or exemptions related to new PNG connections can directly impact consumers. Therefore, it's important for gas consumers to pay attention to these changes.
Will there be a change in the price of LPG cylinder ?
Oil marketing companies (OMCs) typically review the prices of domestic and commercial LPG cylinders on the 1st of every month. The price of both the 14.2 kg domestic cylinder and the 19 kg commercial cylinder is subject to change. Domestic LPG cylinder prices remained stable in mid-August. However, the price of the commercial cylinder was reduced by ₹192, costing ₹2,738. Therefore, consumers are keenly watching whether domestic gas prices will rise or fall in September. The decision on this will be clear on September 1st.
Today is the last chance for LPG e-KYC.
Aadhaar-based biometric e-KYC is mandatory for LPG consumers. According to the information provided, the last date for completing e-KYC is August 31, 2026. Those who have not yet done eKYC, it would be better for them to complete the process today itself. e-KYC can be done online or by visiting the concerned gas agency. Failure to process on time may lead to problems related to subsidy or cylinder supply in the future.
An incentive scheme for new PNG connections
has been announced. New customers can benefit from discounts on registration or security deposits, or easy EMI options.
