It has been almost three weeks since the ongoing war in West Asia. This conflict has created a global energy crisis. India, one of the largest energy importers, is no exception. LPG shortages are emerging in the country. The central government is appealing to the public almost daily to remain calm, but fear persists among the public. On Thursday, the Petroleum Ministry stated that the LPG situation remains worrisome due to the ongoing war in West Asia.

What the government said: According to media reports, the government stated that currently, there is a sufficient amount of LPG available in the country. No distributor has reported any shortages. Furthermore, the country has sufficient crude oil reserves. The supply of petrol pumps, domestic PNG, and CNG for vehicles is continuing uninterrupted. Appealing for peace, Sujata Sharma, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas, detailed the government's efforts to address this crisis.

What the Secretary Said: According to media reports, he said, "Crude oil conditions and refinery operations are normal. No dry-outs have been observed at petrol pumps. Domestic PNG and CNG supplies remain adequate." He added, "For the past few days, we have been appealing to commercial LPG consumers to shift from LPG to CNG wherever possible. The government is also encouraging companies in this direction."
