A disturbing incident has surfaced from Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, where a young man and his married girlfriend were found severely burnt inside a house under mysterious circumstances. The incident, which took place in the Turkman Gate area under the Uparkot police station limits, created panic among local residents.
The victims have been identified as Farman and Nazreen. Farman, who sustained critical burn injuries, succumbed during treatment at the hospital. Nazreen, whose condition remains serious, was later referred to Delhi for advanced medical care. After receiving information, police and forensic teams rushed to the spot and began an in-depth investigation.
According to preliminary reports, Farman had earlier worked at a factory owned by Nazreen’s husband, Wasim, located inside the same house. He was reportedly dismissed from the job nearly two years ago. Police suspect that despite this, Farman continued to visit the house secretly, allegedly due to a romantic relationship with Nazreen.
Family Away, Incident Occurred in Early Morning
Nazreen’s brother-in-law, Nadeem, revealed that the family had gone to the mosque for prayers around 4:00 am, leaving Nazreen alone at home. During this time, Farman allegedly entered the house. Soon after, a fire broke out, leaving both Farman and Nazreen badly burned. Hearing screams, locals rushed to the house and informed the police.
Both injured individuals were taken to the hospital, where doctors declared Farman dead. Due to the woman’s deteriorating condition, she was later referred to Safdarjung Hospital for further treatment.
Police Investigating All Angles
Police have sealed the spot and forensic experts are collecting evidence to determine the exact cause of the fire. While the case is initially being linked to a love affair, authorities have not ruled out other possibilities such as suicide, accident, or a planned conspiracy.
Additional police personnel have been deployed in the area to maintain law and order amid tension.
Providing details, City First Circle Officer Mayank Pathak said that the police received information about the incident around 7:00 pm on February 23, 2026. He added that, so far, there is no evidence of a third person being present at the scene, and further legal action is underway as the investigation continues.
