Harshit Rana IPL 2026: Even before the start of IPL 2026, KKR has suffered a major setback as Harshit Rana has been ruled out of the entire tournament.
Harshit Rana Ruled Out IPL 2026: Kolkata Knight Riders have suffered a major setback even before the start of the 2026 Indian Premier League season. Fast bowler Harshit Rana has been ruled out of the entire tournament. Due to injury, Harshit will not be able to play in IPL 2026. He was retained by Kolkata Knight Riders for ₹4 crore.
Harshit Rana suffered an injury in the T20 World Cup 2026 warm-up match against South Africa, forcing him out of the T20 World Cup. KKR has not yet announced a replacement for him. On Friday, Kolkata added lethal Zimbabwean bowler Blessing Muzarabani to their squad. It is likely that Muzarabani will replace Harshit in the Kolkata squad.
Following Andre Russell's retirement, Harshit Rana's exclusion from IPL 2026 is a major blow to KKR. The team's bowling, especially in the death overs, appears to be facing increasing difficulties. The team also includes Mathisha Pathirana, who was acquired by KKR for ₹18 crore in the auction.
Speaking of Blessing Muzarabani, he was one of the leading wicket-takers in the T20 World Cup 2026. He took a total of 13 wickets throughout the tournament. The Kolkata Knight Riders will be hoping that Muzarabani can compensate for Harshit Rana's absence.
It should be noted that the Kolkata Knight Riders are expected to unveil their new jersey on March 14th. According to the 20-match schedule released by the BCCI, the Kolkata Knight Riders' first match in IPL 2026 will be against the Mumbai Indians on March 29th. Harshit played 13 matches in the previous season, IPL 2025, and took a total of 15 wickets.
