Kia Sorento Hybrid Bookings Open: Premium 7-Seater SUV Set to Challenge Toyota Fortuner

Kia India has officially started accepting bookings for the all-new Sorento Hybrid, marking the brand's entry into the hybrid SUV segment in the country. Positioned as Kia's flagship SUV for India, the Sorento combines premium features, hybrid technology, and three-row practicality, making it a strong contender in the full-size SUV market.

The Sorento has been a global success since its debut in 2002 and is currently in its fourth generation. According to Kia, the SUV has sold over 4.8 million units across 132 countries and has consistently ranked among the company's top three best-selling models worldwide over the past two years.

Expected Strong Hybrid Powertrain

While Kia has not officially revealed the complete powertrain specifications for the Indian version, the Sorento is expected to arrive with a 1.6-litre turbo-petrol strong hybrid engine.

In international markets, this hybrid setup delivers up to 227 hp of power and 350 Nm of peak torque. The engine is paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission, while global models are offered with both Front-Wheel Drive (FWD) and All-Wheel Drive (AWD) options. Kia is expected to announce the India-specific specifications closer to launch.

Premium Cabin Loaded with Features

Globally, the Kia Sorento is equipped with a long list of luxury and technology features designed to enhance comfort and convenience. Some of the key highlights include:

  • Dual curved digital displays

  • Connected car technology

  • Level-2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS)

  • Panoramic sunroof

  • Ventilated front seats

  • Powered tailgate

  • Spacious three-row, seven-seat layout

The feature list for the India-spec model is expected to be revealed before the official launch.

Ready to Take on Premium SUVs

With the Sorento Hybrid, Kia is aiming to strengthen its presence in India's premium SUV market while also entering the growing hybrid vehicle segment.

Once launched, the SUV is expected to compete with popular premium seven-seater models such as the Toyota Fortuner, Skoda Kodiaq, Volkswagen Tayron, and Jeep Meridian.

Kia is likely to announce the official launch date, pricing, and variant details in the coming weeks. With rising interest in fuel-efficient hybrid vehicles, the Sorento could become an attractive option for buyers looking for a premium SUV with modern technology and improved efficiency.
