The Case

• The woman, a resident of Harpanahalli, left her husband three years ago to live with her lover, Naveen, bringing her two children along.

• Trusting him, she even filed for divorce from her husband.

• Naveen, originally from Hubli district, was working as a paper van driver when their relationship began. Recently, he secured a job with KSRTC (Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation).

Lover’s Attitude Changed After Job

According to the woman’s statement, Naveen’s behavior changed drastically after he got the government job. Frequent quarrels started between them, and tensions reached a breaking point last Wednesday.

The two had a heated argument at Tank Park on Shamanur Road in Davanagere city. Naveen allegedly attacked the woman during the altercation, drawing the attention of locals who informed the police.

Allegations of Cheating and Theft

The woman accused Naveen of:

• Snatching her jewelry and money

• Abandoning her and her children after promising to take responsibility

• Assaulting her during the public altercation

Police confirmed that Naveen was intoxicated at the time of the incident. Both were taken to the Davanagere Barangay Police Station, where the woman lodged a formal complaint.
