The Railway Board has instructed all zonal railways to prepare train reservation charts at a pre-determined time, so that passengers can know their seat status in a timely manner.

Until now, charts were often prepared just before the train departed. This left passengers unable to determine whether their tickets were confirmed or not. This caused significant inconvenience, especially for long-distance travelers and night-time train passengers. Many were forced to make last-minute decisions about whether to travel or cancel.

These trains will run in the morning and afternoon

According to media reports, the first reservation chart for trains running between 5:01 AM and 2:00 PM will now be prepared by 8:00 PM the previous day. This means that if a passenger's train is scheduled for 6:00 AM, 10:00 AM, or 1:00 PM, they will know their seat status the night before. This will allow passengers to better prepare for their journey.

Afternoon, evening and night trains

Railways will now prepare the reservation charts of all trains running between 2:01 pm and 11:59 pm at least 10 hours before departure, so that passengers can get timely information.

Trains running from night to early morning

If a train departs between 12 midnight and 5 am, the railway will prepare its reservation chart at least 10 hours in advance. According to the railway, these new rules will provide significant relief to passengers, especially those traveling long distances and those traveling from other cities. Knowing seat availability in advance will allow them to plan their travels in time and avoid last-minute hassles.

Passengers will get convenience from this rule
