Jasprit Bumrah is widely regarded as one of the most lethal and economical bowlers in T20 cricket. Known for his deadly yorkers, sharp bouncers, and clever variations, Bumrah has consistently troubled even the best batsmen in the world. Scoring runs against him is challenging, and hitting sixes is even tougher. However, in the history of the Indian Premier League, a few exceptional players have managed to dominate him.
Leading the list is South African legend AB de Villiers, who has smashed eight sixes off Bumrah. He scored 125 runs from 85 balls at an impressive strike rate of over 147, using his innovative and unorthodox shots to counter Bumrah’s precision bowling.
In second place is Virat Kohli, who has hit six sixes against Bumrah while scoring 150 runs off 101 balls. Kohli’s consistency and strong technique have helped him maintain one of the best records against the pace spearhead, making him the highest run-scorer against Bumrah in the IPL.
South African all-rounder JP Duminy occupies the third spot. He scored 70 runs off just 33 balls against Bumrah, including six sixes, showcasing his aggressive batting and excellent timing.
Interestingly, the final name on the list is Australian captain Pat Cummins. Despite being primarily a bowler, Cummins has hit five sixes off Bumrah, scoring 54 runs from 34 balls, proving his ability to contribute with the bat as well.
These performances highlight that while Bumrah is one of the toughest bowlers to face, a handful of world-class players have managed to take him on and succeed with fearless and skillful batting.
