A shocking case of deception and abuse has come to light in Indore, where a married woman who left her husband to live with her lover was later betrayed, assaulted, and abandoned. After enduring months of physical and emotional trauma, the woman returned to her husband, narrated her ordeal, and approached the police. Authorities have now registered a case and initiated an investigation to trace the accused.
According to police officials, the incident falls under the jurisdiction of Chandan Nagar police station. The woman stated that she was emotionally manipulated by a young man who promised to marry her. Gradually, their friendship turned into an intimate relationship. She alleged that whenever her husband was away from home, the accused would visit her, gaining her trust over time.
Blinded by the promise of marriage, the woman decided to leave her marital home. She ran away with her lover, carrying nearly ₹2 lakh in cash along with gold jewellery. Initially, the accused arranged rented accommodation for her at multiple locations, including areas in Indore, Pithampur, and Sehore.
However, the situation soon took a dark turn. The woman alleged that her lover squandered all her money on alcohol, food, and house rent within a short period. Once the cash was exhausted, he began pressuring her to arrange more funds. When she expressed her inability to do so, he allegedly subjected her to severe physical abuse.
In her complaint, the woman stated that the accused not only beat her mercilessly but also inflicted burn injuries on her body using a lit cigarette. She claimed that during the time they lived together, he repeatedly exploited her physically under the pretext of marriage.
As her jewellery was sold off and no money remained, the violence reportedly intensified. Unable to bear the torture any longer, the woman questioned how she could arrange more funds. This allegedly enraged the accused further. Eventually, he forced her onto a train heading towards Indore and fled, abandoning her without money or support.
Traumatized and helpless, the woman returned to her husband’s home. In tears, she disclosed the entire sequence of events to him. Demonstrating unexpected support, her husband stood by her and accompanied her to the police station to lodge a formal complaint.
Based on the woman’s statement, police have registered a case against the accused under relevant sections related to physical assault, sexual exploitation, and cheating. Officials confirmed that efforts are underway to locate and arrest the suspect, who is currently absconding.
Police officials have stated that the matter is being investigated seriously and the victim’s medical examination and statement have been recorded. Further legal action will be taken once the accused is apprehended.
