India’s Most Powerful Camera Phone Launching Today: Xiaomi 17 Ultra Set to Challenge Samsung and iPhone

Chinese smartphone giant Xiaomi is all set to unveil its latest flagship lineup, the Xiaomi 17 series, today in India and global markets. The launch event will introduce the Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Ultra, and the Xiaomi Pad 8, with the Ultra model grabbing maximum attention for its next-level camera capabilities.
With a strong focus on photography, performance, and battery life, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is being positioned as one of India’s most powerful camera smartphones—directly competing with premium offerings from Samsung and Apple.
Expected Prices in India
According to international pricing leaks, the Xiaomi 17 could start at around 999 euros in Europe (roughly ₹1,06,500), while the Xiaomi 17 Ultra may debut at 1,499 euros (around ₹1,59,850).
However, Indian pricing is expected to be more aggressive:

Xiaomi 17 Ultra: Camera Takes Center Stage
The Xiaomi 17 Ultra packs a large 6.9-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and 1.5K resolution. Powering the device is the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, paired with HyperOS 3 based on Android 16, ensuring top-tier flagship performance.
Photography is the biggest highlight. The phone features a Leica-tuned triple rear camera setup, including:
