Chinese smartphone giant Xiaomi is all set to unveil its latest flagship lineup, the Xiaomi 17 series, today in India and global markets. The launch event will introduce the Xiaomi 17, Xiaomi 17 Ultra, and the Xiaomi Pad 8, with the Ultra model grabbing maximum attention for its next-level camera capabilities.

With a strong focus on photography, performance, and battery life, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is being positioned as one of India’s most powerful camera smartphones—directly competing with premium offerings from Samsung and Apple.

Expected Prices in India

According to international pricing leaks, the Xiaomi 17 could start at around 999 euros in Europe (roughly ₹1,06,500), while the Xiaomi 17 Ultra may debut at 1,499 euros (around ₹1,59,850).

However, Indian pricing is expected to be more aggressive:

• Xiaomi 17: Likely under ₹80,000

• Xiaomi 17 Ultra: Expected around ₹1,25,000

• Xiaomi Pad 8: Could start below ₹35,000

Xiaomi 17 Ultra: Camera Takes Center Stage

The Xiaomi 17 Ultra packs a large 6.9-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate and 1.5K resolution. Powering the device is the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, paired with HyperOS 3 based on Android 16, ensuring top-tier flagship performance.

Photography is the biggest highlight. The phone features a Leica-tuned triple rear camera setup, including:

• 50MP 1-inch primary sensor with OIS

• 50MP ultra-wide camera

• 200MP periscope telephoto lens with 3.2x–4.3x optical zoom

It supports 4K video recording and includes a 50MP front camera for selfies and video calls.

Fueling the device is a massive 6,800mAh battery with 90W wired and 50W wireless charging. The phone also offers IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings along with Wi-Fi 7 support.

What Xiaomi 17 and Pad 8 Offer

The standard Xiaomi 17 comes with a 6.3-inch OLED display, the same Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, and a Leica-branded triple 50MP camera setup. It houses an even larger 7,000mAh battery with 100W fast charging, making it a strong option for power users.

Meanwhile, the Xiaomi Pad 8 is designed for entertainment and productivity. It features:
