Murder accused arrested

The attack took place at the Downtown Suites Motel near Interstate 30, near the Tennyson Golf Course in Texas. Dallas police named Yordanis Cobos-Martinez as a suspect in the murder and arrested him. Martinez has been charged with murder. According to jail records, the accused has a non-bond arrest order and an immigration detainer. The deceased is 50 years old and the accused is said to be 37 years old.

India expressed grief over the incident

A statement was also issued by India in Houston regarding this matter. The statement said, "The Indian Consulate General in Houston expresses condolences on the tragic death of Indian citizen Chandra Nagamallaiya. According to police, the two began arguing over a washing machine and things escalated. The killer, Cobos-Martinez, chased Nagamallaiah, stabbed him multiple times and finally beheaded him in front of the victim's wife and son.

What happened inside the motel?

Officers from the Dallas Police Department received emergency calls at around 9:30 a.m. When they arrived, they found Nagamallaiah severely injured outside the motel's ground-floor room, and blood trails were visible at the scene. The killer, wearing a blood-soaked T-shirt, was taken into custody shortly after the attack. Authorities later confirmed that the accused had dumped the victim's severed head in a trash can.
