Indian Idol 3 winner Prashant Tamang dies at 43 after suffering a stroke

Indian Idol winner Prashant Tamang has died of a heart attack. He was set to appear in Salman Khan's film, Battle of Galwan.

Sad news has emerged from the entertainment industry. Singer and actor Prashant Tamang, winner of the third season of the Indian singing reality show Indian Idol, has passed away. Reports suggest the 43-year-old singer suffered a stroke on the night of January 10th, following which he passed away. He was reportedly in Delhi on Sunday morning, January 11th. His close friend, music composer and film producer Rajesh Ghatani, confirmed his death. According to media report, the singer's body is at Mata Chanan Hospital in Janakpuri.

Prashant Tamang was born on January 4, 1983, in Darjeeling, West Bengal. His parents are Rupa and Madan Tamang. He lost his father in an accident, after which he took his father's place as a constable in the Kolkata Police, where he honed his musical skills by becoming a part of the police orchestra. Prashant gained popularity in 2007 after winning the third season of Indian Idol, winning the hearts of millions. He received 70 million votes. This catapulted his career, leading to albums and international tours. He also made a name for himself in the acting world.
