Bangladesh Hindu Man Killed: According to Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) and police officials, there is no concrete confirmation yet of the blasphemy charges leveled against Dipu Chandra Das.

Dipu Chandra Das, a 27-year-old Hindu man working in a garment factory in Bangladesh's Mymensingh district, was beaten to death by a mob on Thursday (December 18) after being accused of blasphemy. Had the factory management notified the police in time, Dipu's life could have been saved. Instead, factory supervisors forced him to resign, expelled him from his workplace, and handed him over to a radical Islamist mob, who brutally murdered him, hanged his body, and then set it on fire.

The suspected role of factory officials in the murder
has been revealed by the investigation, which revealed that the factory's floor supervisor and quality supervisor handed Deepu over to the mob instead of handing him over to the police. Following a review of CCTV footage and video, 12 people, including factory officials and employees, have been arrested so far.

A mountain of grief has fallen upon the family.
Dipu Chandra Das was married three years ago. His family consists of his wife and a one-and-a-half-year-old child, who is now left without a father. RAB-14 Commander Naimul Hasan told a press conference that the violence began inside the factory around 4 pm. He said, "The factory floor in-charge forced Dipu to resign and handed him over to the angry mob. We have arrested two factory officials because they failed to ensure Dipu's safety."

Locals also arrived after news spread. Around 8:45 p.m., the mob broke down the factory gate and dragged Dipu out of the security room. After being pulled out of the factory, locals also joined the attack. Dipu was killed on the spot, his body strung up on the Dhaka-Mymensingh Highway, and then set on fire.

Police officials reported
the situation had been deteriorating for several hours, but the factory management failed to report it in a timely manner. MD Farhad Hussain Khan, Superintendent of Industrial Police, said, "If a timely call had come, Deepu's life could have been saved."

Traffic jam becomes a major obstacle

The Superintendent of Police stated that a traffic jam of approximately 10 kilometers long occurred at the time of the incident, significantly delaying the police's arrival at the scene. By the time the police arrived, the mob had already moved the body to the highway. Factory management has denied negligence. Senior manager Saqib Mahmood claimed there was no evidence for the allegations and that a "fake resignation" was obtained to defuse the situation. However, investigating agencies maintain that Deepu was deliberately handed over to the mob.
