A new advisory has been issued by the Indian government regarding WhatsApp, in which they have given such information that people will be scared as well as surprised.

Today, WhatsApp is used not only for personal purposes but also for professional purposes. People working in big offices use WhatsApp Web on their computers or laptops, regarding which the Government of India has now issued a frightening warning. Recently, an advisory has been issued by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), in which the government has requested people to turn off WhatsApp Web on their office computers or laptops.

Why did the government give such a warning
This warning from the government is not just any advice, but the reason given for it is such that it will surprise everyone. Actually, the government says that of course it is convenient to access personal chats and office files on the office system, but by doing so the company also gets your personal details.

You can get access to private chats
This advisory of the government states that using WhatsApp Web on the office system gives your office IT team and administrator access to private chats. This can be possible through many methods like malware, screen-monitoring software or browser hijack. The government has issued this warning keeping in mind the increasing cyber security in the office.

ISEA highlighted the dangers
This advisory has come at a time when the government's Information Security Awareness (ISEA) team has highlighted the danger due to the use of messaging platforms on corporate devices. In such a situation, many companies are now considering WhatsApp Web as a potential security risk. It is considered a way through which phishing attacks and malware are entering. Due to this, the entire network can be in danger.

Wi-Fi can also be expensive
Apart from this, it has also been said in the advisory that the use of office Wi-Fi can also give access to the personal data of companies and employees for some time, due to which personal data can be in danger.

Precautions
The government has said in the advisory that if for any reason you have to use WhatsApp Web on your office laptop or computer, then you must keep certain things in mind. Like-

1. After using WhatsApp, whenever you close the laptop, make sure to log it out from the system.

2. Be careful before clicking on any unknown link or attachment.
