“I’d rather sell it cheaper!” Virat Kohli’s witty reply on Test comeback question leaves everyone laughing

Indian cricket star Virat Kohli brought back his trademark humor at the global premiere event of his brand One8 on June 21, where a light-hearted moment quickly went viral.

Kohli, who has been away from competitive cricket since IPL 2026 due to injury, is currently part of India’s ODI squad for the upcoming England series. At the event, he appeared in a fun mood and handled a playful question about his potential return to Test cricket in his usual witty style.

The question came in a joking context linked to his newly launched red shoes—priced in a quirky reference to his 9,230 Test runs. When asked whether he would return to Test cricket to “increase sales and profits,” Kohli laughed it off and replied that he would rather sell the shoes at a lower price, adding that he has nothing to do with Test cricket anymore. His remark triggered laughter across the room.

Kohli had retired from Test cricket last year and stepped away from T20Is in 2024, ending his red-ball career with a massive 9,230 runs.

Meanwhile, he is expected to return to action in the upcoming England ODI series, subject to clearing a fitness test at the Centre of Excellence in Bengaluru after recovering from a hamstring injury sustained during IPL 2026.
