A deeply disturbing case of domestic abuse has emerged from Ghazipur district in Uttar Pradesh, where a woman has accused her husband of circulating her obscene photos among his friends and later threatening to sell her. The victim has lodged a complaint at the Karimuddinpur police station, leading to the registration of a case against the accused.
According to the woman, she was married around three years ago and her married life remained normal for nearly two and a half years. However, about a month ago, her husband allegedly crossed all limits of cruelty. She claims that he secretly took indecent photographs and videos of her and shared them with his friends. One of the videos was also allegedly made viral.
When the woman came to know about this and protested, the situation worsened. She alleged that her husband brutally assaulted her and then forced her to consume alcohol. In an intoxicated state, she claims she heard her husband say that he would sell her and that the objectionable video was made for that very purpose.
What makes the case even more shocking is that the woman is five months pregnant. Despite her condition, she alleges that her husband continued to assault her on a daily basis. Unable to bear the physical and mental torture, she eventually left her matrimonial home and took shelter at her sister’s house.
The victim further stated that she initially approached the local police station, but no action was taken. Left with no option, she met the Superintendent of Police, Ghazipur, and submitted a written complaint. In her application, she reportedly warned that if justice was not delivered, she might take her own life.
Taking the matter seriously, the Superintendent of Police directed the Karimuddinpur police to act immediately. Following these instructions, the police have registered a case against the accused husband under sections 85, 115(2), and 351(2) of the IPC and have begun further investigation.
