Hero MotoCorp’s electric mobility ambitions have received a major boost after design patent images of the upcoming Zero Lompico electric motorcycle surfaced online. The leaked patents provide the clearest look yet at the production-ready version of the motorcycle and reveal a strong connection with the upcoming Hero Vida VXZ electric bike.

The latest images suggest that both motorcycles share several core components and are being developed under the strategic partnership between Hero MotoCorp and Zero Motorcycles. This collaboration could play a key role in expanding Hero’s presence in the global electric two-wheeler market.

Zero Lompico and Vida VXZ Share the Same Foundation

The leaked patent images indicate that the Zero Lompico and Hero Vida VXZ are based on the same trellis-frame architecture. Both electric motorcycles appear to use identical mechanical components, including wheels, braking hardware, front USD forks, rear mono-shock suspension, and a redesigned swingarm.

The similarities extend to the TFT digital instrument cluster, street-style handlebars, and the swingarm-mounted rear number plate holder. These common elements suggest that the two motorcycles have been engineered from the same platform while targeting different customer segments through unique styling.

Powerful Battery and Performance Package

Zero Motorcycles has already confirmed key details of the Lompico’s powertrain. The electric bike will feature an 8.8 kWh battery pack paired with a centrally mounted electric motor capable of producing approximately 40 bhp of peak power.

Industry observers expect the Hero Vida VXZ to use a similar setup, making both motorcycles nearly identical in terms of performance and mechanical specifications. This approach allows the brands to offer distinct designs while benefiting from shared engineering and development costs.

Retro-Futuristic Styling Sets Lompico Apart

Although the two motorcycles share their mechanical underpinnings, their visual identities are significantly different.

The Hero Vida VXZ is expected to adopt a more aggressive and sporty design language, while the Zero Lompico embraces a bold retro-futuristic appearance. One of its standout elements is a unique front fascia featuring wide LED daytime running lights positioned around a centrally mounted headlamp.

A square-shaped TFT display sits above the headlight, adding to the bike’s futuristic appeal. The fuel tank shrouds and side panels feature a distinctive design that gives the motorcycle a premium and eye-catching road presence.

Hero Could Manufacture It in India

The leaked design patent also hints that the Zero Lompico may be manufactured by Hero MotoCorp in India before being exported to international markets, including the United States.

Such a move would align perfectly with Hero’s long-term strategy of becoming a major player in the global electric vehicle industry. The partnership with Zero Motorcycles began in 2023 when Hero invested nearly $60 million in the American EV manufacturer, strengthening collaboration on future electric motorcycle platforms.

A Big Step Beyond Electric Scooters

Until now, Vida has primarily focused on electric scooters. The development of the VXZ and its close relationship with the Zero Lompico signals Hero’s entry into the rapidly growing premium electric motorcycle segment.

Zero had previously teased the Lompico through limited concept visuals and clay models, but the newly leaked patents suggest that the final production version will remain largely faithful to the original concept.

With a powerful battery pack, shared global platform, premium design, and export potential, the upcoming Vida VXZ and Zero Lompico could become key products in Hero MotoCorp’s global electric mobility roadmap. The project represents one of the company’s most significant moves yet in the transition toward sustainable transportation.
