UP Police Inspector Viral Video: A video of a female inspector from Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, spread like wildfire on social media. Stuck in a traffic jam, the inspector threatened a car driver, saying, "I'll pee in your face." After the video went viral, the Aligarh SSP placed her under suspension. But now, the case has taken a new turn. Female inspector Rachna Rathi has broken her silence and revealed the truth about that night.
The incident occurred at 7 pm on December 28th in Meerut's Abulen Market, a video of which surfaced the next day. In the video, Rachna Rathi is seen angrily beating a young man in a car with a belt and threatening to send him to jail. Investigation revealed that she had left Aligarh for Muzaffarnagar on the pretext of official work, but ended up shopping in Meerut with friends. The i20 car she was driving has 14 pending challans, totaling ₹43,782.
'Would you have kept quiet if I had touched your breast?'
In an exclusive interview with a media outlet, Inspector Rachna Rathi recounted the entire incident. She said she was taking her 75-year-old ailing grandmother to the doctor when a car pulled up inappropriately and blocked her path. Rachna alleges that when she objected, the man in the car got out and touched her breast. The woman in the car also hurled vulgar abuse at her. Rachna said, "If anyone pushes me or touches me, I will do something. However, I apologize for the inappropriate words that came out of my mouth."
Questions raised on uniform and society
Rachna Rathi clarified that she wasn't in full uniform at the time, but was wearing lowers and a jacket. She sharply criticized society's attitude, saying that when a girl returns home after being beaten or raped, people make an issue of it. But if a girl fights back, people question her character and her job. She said that she didn't know the family, but only her fault was shown to tarnish the police's image. Currently, a departmental inquiry is underway on the orders of Aligarh SSP Neeraj Singh Jadon.
