Guess Who: Jackie Shroff Reveals He Took Brandy Shots Before Kissing Madhuri Dixit and Juhi Chawla

Bollywood divas Madhuri Dixit and Juhi Chawla ruled the silver screen in the late 80s and 90s. While Madhuri won hearts with her acting finesse and iconic dance numbers, Juhi charmed audiences with her innocence and lively performances. Both worked with nearly every top star of their era—but not every co-star was comfortable shooting romantic scenes with them.

Surprisingly, one such superstar was Jackie Shroff. Known as Bollywood’s "Bhidu", Jackie recently confessed that he was so nervous about filming kissing scenes with Madhuri and Juhi that he had to take a couple of shots of brandy before facing the camera.

Jackie Shroff’s Confession
In a candid interview, Jackie recalled, “I had a kiss scene with Madhuri in Vardi and with Juhi in Aaina. I was very shy and even took a few shots of brandy to complete the scene. After that, people started calling me ‘Sexy Shroff’, but the truth is, I have always felt shy in such moments.”

This revelation gives a peek into Jackie’s off-screen personality—contrasting his on-screen bold image with his real-life shyness.

The Film ‘Vardi’ and Madhuri’s Disappointment
Jackie and Madhuri first paired up in Vardi (1989), which also starred Sunny Deol. While the film did well at the box office, Madhuri wasn’t happy post-release. She reportedly felt her role was cut short and that more emphasis was placed on her bold and intimate scenes with Jackie—something she hadn’t expected.

Later, Jackie and Madhuri shared screen space again in the blockbuster Ram Lakhan (1989) alongside Anil Kapoor. Though Madhuri was paired opposite Anil, her chemistry with Jackie also received praise.

When Madhuri Lost Her Cool
Interestingly, Madhuri had earlier faced discomfort while filming a bold scene with Vinod Khanna in Dayavan (1988). Reports suggest Vinod got carried away during the shoot, which left Madhuri upset. Incidents like these shaped her cautious approach towards intimate scenes in her career.
