Government Scheme: Great news for pregnant women! The government is offering ₹5,000 to ₹6,000; are you eligible for this scheme?

The central government has always supported women in achieving financial independence. Now, the central government is implementing the PM Matritva Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) to ensure the health of pregnant women and newborns. This will make it easier to access essential health services, nutrition, and medical tests during pregnancy. This scheme is especially beneficial for women from economically and socially disadvantaged backgrounds.

How much assistance is available under the PM Matru Vandana Yojana?
Implemented by the Ministry of Women and Child Development, this scheme's primary objective is to improve the health of mothers and newborns and provide financial assistance and facilities to women during pregnancy. According to the scheme, an eligible woman receives financial assistance of ₹5,000 upon the birth of her first child. Additionally, if the child is a girl, ₹6,000 is provided for the second child. This financial assistance helps women access nutritious food, health check-ups, and essential medical services.

What should be the age of eligible women?

If you are a pregnant woman aged 19 years or older, women who have lost their income or salary due to pregnancy are given priority under this scheme. You can apply within 270 days of the child's birth. Even if the second child is a girl, you receive additional benefits.

This scheme has been very beneficial for women from economically and socially vulnerable families. Women from Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), women with disabilities, women from Below Poverty Line (BPL) families, e-SHRAM card holders, Ayushman Bharat-Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY) beneficiaries, women farmers, MNREGA job card holders, women from families with annual income less than ₹8 lakh, Anganwadi and ASHA workers, and women holding ration cards under the National Food Security Act (NFSA) can avail the benefits of this scheme.
