Director Rohit Shetty is all set to expand his popular comedy franchise “Golmaal” with its fifth installment. Preparations for Golmaal 5 are underway, and once again Ajay Devgn will be seen leading the film. Recently, reports confirmed that Akshay Kumar has also joined the cast, and now another big name has been added to the lineup.

According to the latest updates, Kareena Kapoor Khan is officially returning to the Golmaal franchise. Kareena has previously been a part of the series and is now set to reunite with Ajay Devgn and Akshay Kumar in this much-anticipated comedy film.

Why Kareena’s Casting Took Time

There had been speculation for a long time about Kareena Kapoor’s involvement in Golmaal 5. A report by Bollywood Hungama revealed that her casting was delayed due to scheduling issues and date adjustments. Once those concerns were resolved, the makers finalized her role.

Special Role Written for Kareena

Rohit Shetty was keen on bringing Kareena back into the franchise. The director and his writing team have reportedly crafted a unique, entertaining, and impactful character especially for her. Kareena, too, had expressed interest in returning to the Golmaal universe.

Kareena was last seen in the franchise in “Golmaal 3” (2010), where she played the character Dabboo, winning over audiences with her comic timing. She was absent from Golmaal Again, but fans are now excited to see her comeback.

Akshay Kumar to Play the Villain

While details about Kareena’s character are being kept under wraps, reports suggest that Akshay Kumar will be seen in a negative role in Golmaal 5. This will add a fresh twist to the franchise.

Apart from Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar, and Kareena Kapoor, other familiar faces from the series—Tusshar Kapoor, Arshad Warsi, Shreyas Talpade, Kunal Kemmu, and Sanjay Mishra—are also expected to return.
