Monday morning brought some relief news for consumers. Gold prices in the country are once again witnessing a decline. On the morning of June 29, a decrease in prices was seen in most cities. The price of 24 carat gold in the capital Delhi has come down to Rs 1,44,090 per 10 grams, while in Mumbai it is Rs 1,43,940 per 10 grams. Last week, the price of 24 carat gold has fallen by Rs 2,510, while the price of 22 carat gold has fallen by Rs 2,300. Spot gold is trading at $4,077.64 per ounce in the international market.

According to data from the Indian Bullion Association (IBA), the price of gold in India has fallen by ₹13,267 since May 10th, following the Prime Minister's appeal. On May 10th, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, citing rising tensions in West Asia and India's growing import bill, urged people to avoid non-essential gold purchases for a year to save foreign exchange. Following this, many people followed the Prime Minister's advice and decided to avoid buying gold.

Gold prices in major cities of the country

In the capital Delhi, the price of 24 carat gold is Rs 1,44,090 per 10 grams, while the price of 22 carat gold is Rs 1,32,090 per 10 grams. In Mumbai and Kolkata, the price of 22 carat gold is Rs 1,31,940 per 10 grams, while the price of 24 carat gold is Rs 1,43,940 per 10 grams. The highest price of gold is being seen in Chennai. In Chennai, 24 carat gold is being sold for Rs 1,45,850 per 10 grams and 22 carat gold for Rs 1,33,690 per 10 grams. Gold prices have also been revealed in Pune and Bengaluru. In these two cities, the price of 24 carat gold is Rs 1,43,940 per 10 grams and the price of 22 carat gold is Rs 1,31,940 per 10 grams.

Silver price

The drop in gold prices has not only brought relief to consumers, but also the price of another precious metal, silver. On the morning of June 29th, the price of silver fell to ₹239,900 per kg. This price has fallen by ₹10,000 in the past week. The spot price of silver in the international market is $59.12 per ounce.
