According to reports, getting a new electricity connection in Uttarakhand will now be more expensive. The Uttarakhand Electricity Regulatory Commission has increased the rates.

The new rates will come into effect on November 1. The Regulatory Commission's new order has increased service line charges. Under this order, BPL consumers will now have to pay ₹150 instead of ₹100 for connections up to 4 kilowatts.

Meanwhile, general consumers will now have to pay ₹1,400 for connections up to 4 kilowatts, up from ₹1,000. For higher-capacity connections, the service line charge is ₹3,000 for 4 to 10 kilowatts, ₹5,000 for 10 to 25 kilowatts, and a security charge of ₹600.
