A controversy has emerged around actor Anil Kapoor's reality show 'India's Top 1%' after renowned Bollywood stunt performer and coordinator Geeta Tandon shared an upsetting experience from the show's set. Geeta alleged that she and her son were made to wait for nearly nine hours in a tent without receiving proper updates about their scheduled appearance. She also questioned the production team's behaviour and highlighted the lack of respect shown towards people working behind the scenes in the entertainment industry.
Geeta shared her experience through an eight-slide Instagram post, raising concerns about professional dignity and the treatment of technicians and artists. Her account has sparked a wider discussion about how production teams treat guests and crew members, particularly those whose contributions often remain away from the spotlight.
According to Geeta, she and her son had agreed to appear on the show without charging any fee, hoping to gain visibility and recognition for their work. They arrived at the shooting location at approximately 12:30 pm and were informed that their segment would be filmed within a few hours.
However, the scheduled shoot kept getting delayed. Geeta claimed that she and her son remained inside a tent until approximately 9:15 pm without receiving a clear update.
Geeta Tandon questions production team's behaviour
The situation reportedly became more uncomfortable when Geeta approached production manager Jaideep to ask about the delay. She explained that she had professional commitments and that her son had travelled from Goa specifically to participate in the shoot.
According to her Instagram post, the production manager responded that if her son wanted to leave, he could do so, but he could not leave without signing the required documents.
Geeta expressed disappointment over what she described as an insensitive response. She clarified that she had not approached the show seeking special treatment or favours. Instead, she expected basic professional courtesy after accepting the invitation and giving her valuable time without charging a fee.
In her post, she also emphasised that people working behind the camera deserve the same respect as those appearing in front of it. Her concerns were primarily about the treatment of artists and technicians whose contributions are essential to the entertainment industry.
Farah Khan and Anil Kapoor apologise to Geeta
Following Geeta's public post, filmmaker and choreographer Farah Khan responded in the comments section with an apology.
Farah explained that she was unaware of Geeta's situation because she had been shooting another episode that evening. She expressed regret over the incident and said that she would have offered Geeta a place to sit in her vanity van had she known about the circumstances.
Farah also acknowledged Geeta's contribution to the industry and expressed respect for her work.
Show host Anil Kapoor also responded to the allegations. He said he was deeply saddened to hear about her experience and apologised for the way she and her son had been treated.
Anil further stated that he always wants guests appearing on his show to feel welcomed and respected. He assured Geeta that her concerns were being taken seriously.

Her intention was to bring attention to what she described as the treatment of people working behind the scenes.
