Chinese automaker Geely has created a massive buzz in the automotive world with its flagship SUV, the Galaxy M9 PHEV, which has received more than 40,000 pre-sale orders within just 24 hours of bookings opening. Positioned as the largest and most premium model in the Galaxy lineup, this plug-in hybrid SUV caters to families looking for a spacious 6-seater configuration and impressive long-range hybrid performance. The Galaxy M9 PHEV is offered in six variants, priced between 193,800 yuan (around Rs 22.08 lakh) and 258,800 yuan (around Rs 29.50 lakh).
The SUV’s design is heavily inspired by the Galaxy Starship concept showcased at the 2024 Beijing Auto Show. It retains several futuristic design cues, including the signature ‘Brilliant Galaxy’ LED light bar connecting the headlamps, while also integrating advanced features like a LiDAR sensor to enhance driving safety and automation.
In terms of size, the Galaxy M9 PHEV is nearly as big as the Mercedes-Benz GLS, measuring 5,205 mm in length, 1,999 mm in width, and 1,800 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,030 mm. Inside, it offers a luxurious 2+2+2 three-row seating arrangement, with power-adjustable seats across all rows, heating, ventilation, and massage functions in the first two rows. Rear passengers are treated to ultra-premium features such as a 17.3-inch 3K roof-mounted display, foldable tables, and even a 9.1-litre refrigerator for added comfort.
The SUV also impresses with its storage capacity, offering 328 liters of luggage space with all seats in use and up to 2,171 liters when the second and third rows are folded flat. Enhancing the cabin experience is a state-of-the-art 27-speaker Flyme audio system, complemented by a tech-rich dashboard that includes a 12.66-inch digital instrument cluster, a head-up display, and dual 30-inch touchscreens for the driver and co-passenger.
With its futuristic design, luxurious interiors, and overwhelming pre-launch response, the Geely Galaxy M9 PHEV has established itself as one of the most talked-about SUVs in China, even before hitting the roads.
