Small household problems often feel bigger than they are—whether it’s chewing gum stuck in your hair or stubborn stains ruining your clothes and walls. Instead of stressing or spending money on expensive solutions, try these simple and effective home hacks that actually work.
1. Chewing gum stuck in hair or clothes
Removing chewing gum can be a nightmare, and many people end up cutting their hair or discarding clothes. But there’s an easy fix.
๐ What to do: Rub ice cubes on the gum for a few minutes. The gum hardens, loses its stickiness, and can be removed easily without damaging hair or fabric.
2. Henna stains on clothes
Henna stains can look permanent, but they’re not as stubborn as they seem.
๐ What to do: Mix one packet of Eno in warm water. Pour this solution directly on the stain and leave it for a few minutes. Wash as usual—the stain will fade away.
3. Cleaning a greasy, smelly microwave
Food splatters and lingering odors in the microwave are common but annoying.
๐ What to do: Take a bowl of water, add lemon juice and a little baking soda, and heat it in the microwave for 1–2 minutes. The steam loosens grease and removes bad smells. Wipe clean with a cloth dipped in the same water.
4. Kitchen sink stains
Over time, kitchen sinks develop stains and dull patches that are hard to scrub off.
๐ What to do: Sprinkle baking soda all over the sink, then pour white vinegar on top. Let the foamy reaction sit for 10 minutes. Scrub lightly and rinse with warm water for a sparkling sink.
5. Crayon marks and stains on walls
Children often turn walls into canvases while playing.
๐ What to do: Lightly dampen the wall, apply a small amount of toothpaste on the stain, and leave it for about 10 minutes. Wipe gently with a cloth dipped in lukewarm water—the marks will disappear.
