‘First hell, then heaven…’: A woman who was in a coma for 18 days tells a chilling story

53-year-old Kathy McDaniel was in a coma for 18 days after suffering a severe lung condition. During this time, she claimed to have had a near-death experience. Kathy first battled demons and endured difficult tasks in hell, then reunited with her ex in heaven.

No one knows for sure what happens after death, but some people claim to have had near-death experiences. One such woman, Kathy McDaniel, is currently in the news. She was kept in a coma for 18 days due to a serious lung disease. During this time, she says she experienced “life after death,” first battling demons in “hell” and later meeting her former lover in “heaven.”

According to a media report, 53-year-old Kathy had been diagnosed with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), a serious condition characterized by rapid inflammation and fluid accumulation in the lungs. Doctors made ceaseless efforts to save her life. When she regained consciousness, she experienced a sudden, terrifying void. She described the space as hazy, hot, and terrifying, and she felt as if she hadn’t experienced death.

Now 79, Kathy recounts this experience in 1999. When she was hospitalized, she was given such powerful sedatives and amnesia that her memories should have been suppressed. But instead of falling completely unconscious, Kathy found herself “awakening” in a place that seemed like another world. First, she saw herself in pitch darkness, and then a voice thundered, asking her, “Do you know where you are?”

Dark and scary experience
Kathy says, “I was so scared and felt completely confused. I pressed my ears with my trembling hands. There was only complete darkness all around, and I realized I was in the wrong place. Finally, I whispered, ‘Hell!’ Then I heard a terrible laugh and found myself in another scary place. This place looked like New York or some big city, but there was a fire, and people were screaming and running. It didn’t feel like a dream, but like a real, actual place.”

Did weird things in hell
Kathy explains that the mysterious figures she was trapped among resembled demons. They didn’t just scare her, they also attacked her and sapped her strength. One demon told her that if she used a pair of round-tipped scissors to clear the bushes in her blackberry field, she would be free. But as soon as the bushes were cleared, they would grow back. Despite this, Kathy maintained a strong belief that she would eventually find a way out. In a trembling voice, she said, “I won’t give up. I will get out of here. This place isn’t fit for me.”

New task in snowy terrain
Some time later, Kathy was ordered by a “satanic woman” to accompany a group of other women dressed in tattered clothing. The group took them to a new, snowy area, where a severe blizzard was raging. There, they were given accommodation in a deserted wooden cabin and assigned tasks. During this time, when a companion mentioned Christmas on Earth, Kathy began singing carols. Although ordered to stop singing, she continued, with shocking results.

Then I got the experience of going to heaven
Kathy recalls the experience, “Suddenly I felt my whole being filled with love, peace, and joy. It felt like I had truly arrived in heaven.” When she opened her eyes, she was greeted by a completely new place—a marble room surrounded by a wonderful garden. There, she was deeply surprised to find her former fiancé, Rick, who had died a month before she was admitted to the hospital. Kathy said Rick looked so young and happy and said, “Well done, I’m proud of you. You haven’t lost your talent.”

Reunion and return from ex-boyfriend
Kathy says she saw the full details of her life in a book she kept nearby. Her ex-fiancé said she couldn’t live in this heavenly place anymore, as she still had a lot to do. Then, one day, Kathy suddenly woke up in a hospital bed and discovered she had been in a coma for 18 days. It took her almost two months to fully recover. During this time, she shared her experiences with her family, but didn’t make most of the events public, as she felt embarrassed to share what she considered a hellish journey .
