Travelling through Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station is set to become more convenient for people arriving by car or other vehicles. Following the introduction of a similar system at New Delhi Railway Station, Hazrat Nizamuddin has now adopted a digital parking and vehicle access management system.
The new setup uses FASTag-based entry and exit to reduce manual processing, improve traffic movement and make parking operations more organised.
FASTag-Based Entry and Exit
Under the new system, vehicles can use FASTag for entry and exit at the station's parking area. The technology is expected to reduce the time required for manual verification and make vehicle movement smoother.
By replacing several conventional processes with digital systems, the initiative also aims to improve transparency and accountability in parking management.
Technology Combined With On-Ground Staff
The system does not depend entirely on automation. Trained staff members have also been deployed at the station to assist passengers and drivers.
This means people can get help if they face difficulties while entering, exiting or using the parking facilities. The combination of digital technology and on-ground support is expected to make the process more convenient, particularly for passengers unfamiliar with the system.
What Benefits Can Passengers Expect?
The digital parking setup is designed to provide several practical benefits:
-
Faster vehicle entry and exit
-
Less dependence on manual processes
-
Smoother movement around the station
-
Better parking management
-
Greater transparency in parking operations
-
On-the-spot assistance from trained personnel
The initiative is also in line with the broader push toward digital transactions, automation and technology-enabled public services.
Company Has Worked With Railways for Seven Years
The parking and access-control contract has been awarded to SNG Securities & Placement, a Delhi-based company that provides security, manpower and integrated support services.
The company has reportedly been associated with Indian Railways for around seven years. Its earlier responsibilities included managing passenger facilities such as cloakrooms at New Delhi Railway Station and Delhi Railway Station.
With the new assignment at Hazrat Nizamuddin, its role has expanded into technology-enabled parking and vehicle access management.
Another Step Toward Digital Railway Services
The FASTag-based parking system at Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station is aimed at making vehicle movement faster and more organised. As more railway facilities adopt digital systems, passengers can expect technology to play a greater role in everyday station services and access management.
