🇬🇧 "Family Over Fame": Saif Ali Khan Backs Balanced Work Hours Amid Deepika Padukone’s Controversy

Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone is all set to return to the silver screen post motherhood. However, even before her upcoming films hit the theatres, she finds herself in the middle of a controversy. Recently, it was reported that Deepika had opted out of Sandeep Reddy Vanga's upcoming film Spirit starring Prabhas. The reason? Allegedly, she demanded a limited 8-hour work schedule on set.

While many have criticized her for being “inflexible,” others have shown support for her stance, especially those advocating for work-life balance in the film industry.

Saif Ali Khan Joins the Conversation

Amid this ongoing debate, veteran actor Saif Ali Khan has shared his own views on the matter. In a statement that seems to support Deepika’s stand indirectly, Saif emphasized the importance of family time over a hectic work schedule.

“I hate coming home and finding my kids already asleep,” Saif said, underlining how crucial it is for him to spend quality time with his children and mother.

“Busy Schedule Is Not Success”

While speaking at the Arab Media Summit, Saif noted:

“Success doesn’t mean being busy all the time. For me, real success is being able to say ‘no’ to work when it’s time to be with family.”

He further added that he refuses to work during his children’s school holidays. “We only get four vacations a year. I want to be with my kids and mother during that time.”

A Growing Voice for Balance

Deepika’s alleged demand for a fixed 8-hour shooting schedule has sparked a wider conversation in the film industry. Many celebrities have come forward in support, saying her decision is justified—especially now that she is a mother.

Her demand is not just about comfort; it's about redefining professionalism in the entertainment industry, where 12–15 hour workdays are often considered the norm.
