Fake calls will be stopped! Before answering an unknown call, the app will automatically ask for reason. What is this new WhatsApp feature?

WhatsApp is constantly rolling out new updates and features to improve the privacy and calling experience of its millions of users. Now, it's been revealed that the company is working on a new feature, which is likely to be rolled out soon. Some time ago, the company introduced features like "silent unknown caller." Now, the company is planning to further upgrade this feature. In the new feature, WhatsApp will first ask the reason for calls from unknown numbers.

Users will then be able to read the transcript and decide whether or not they need to receive the call. According to some recent reports, this feature is currently under development in the Android app. The upcoming feature may become part of WhatsApp's call filtering system. This feature is not yet available to beta testers. The company has not yet announced a release date for this feature.

Three options for call filtering

Reports suggest that the call filtering menu in WhatsApp's privacy section may be replaced with a new option. Users will be given three options: Never, Silence, and Ask for Calling.

The first option is 'Never'.
After selecting this option, call filtering will be completely stopped and all calls will come normally.

The second option is 'Silence.'
If you select this option, the ringtone for calls from unknown numbers will be silenced. However, call details will remain visible in the Calls tab and notifications.

The third option is "Ask for Calling."
After selecting this option, WhatsApp will ask the caller about the reason for the call. Upon receiving the response, the user will be able to decide whether to accept or reject the call.

You'll also get a transcript of the conversation.
Furthermore, this feature also displays a text transcript of the caller's response. This allows users to determine whether an incoming call is about something important without even picking up the phone.
