Employees who contribute to the Employees’ Provident Fund (EPF) often rely on it as a long-term financial safety net. However, issues such as delayed withdrawals, rejected claims, or transfer errors can sometimes create stress for account holders.
To make the process easier, the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation has introduced an online complaint system called EPFiGMS, which allows users to resolve PF-related problems without visiting any office.
What Is EPFiGMS?
EPFiGMS is an official grievance redressal platform launched by EPFO. It enables employees, pensioners, and employers to register complaints online and track their resolution status in real time.
Once a complaint is submitted, the system generates a unique registration number and automatically forwards the issue to the relevant regional EPFO office linked with the user’s UAN or PF account.
Common PF Issues You Can Report
Users can raise complaints related to:
-
Delay in PF withdrawal or settlement
-
PF transfer issues between employers
-
Pension-related discrepancies
-
KYC or personal detail mismatches
-
Non-credit of employer contributions
-
Errors in PF passbook or account records
How to File a Complaint Online
The process of filing a grievance through EPFiGMS is simple:
-
Visit the official EPFiGMS portal
-
Select “Register Grievance”
-
Choose category: Member, Pensioner, Employer, or Others
-
Enter UAN and verify via OTP
-
Select the PF account and issue type
-
Provide detailed description of the problem
-
Upload supporting documents if needed
-
Submit and save the registration number
How to Track Your Complaint
After submission, users can check the status anytime using the “View Status” option on the same portal. By entering the registration number, you can see whether the complaint is:
-
Newly registered
-
Under process
-
Resolved or closed
Updates from the concerned EPFO office are also displayed on the dashboard.
What If the Issue Is Not Resolved?
If a user is not satisfied with the resolution, reminders can be sent through the portal. In some cases, complaints can also be escalated through the government’s broader public grievance system.
Important Tip
Before raising a complaint, ensure that your KYC details such as Aadhaar, PAN, bank account, and UAN information are correctly updated. Many PF delays occur due to mismatched or incomplete records rather than system errors.
The Bottom Line
With EPFiGMS, PF members now have a transparent and convenient way to resolve issues directly from home, reducing the need for office visits and speeding up grievance resolution.
