Eggs were thrown on him

As the police escorted the young TMC leader out, people pelted him with eggs. The police were stunned by this sudden incident. Somehow, they managed to get him to the van, but by then, he had already been showered with eggs. Soumitra Banerjee was arrested late Monday night (June 15) in connection with an old case. On Tuesday (June 16), BJP workers camped outside the Raniganj police station and began protesting against the TMC leader. The protesters expressed their protest by throwing eggs.

BJP leader had complained

BJP leader Ravi Kesri filed a police complaint, following which action was taken against him. The complaint stated that Trinamool supporters attacked a BJP event organized in 2024 to protest the RG tax scam. The BJP leader claims that several workers were injured and attempts were made to kill them. Soumitra Banerjee is among the main accused in this case.

What is the allegation?

BJP leader Ravi Kesari also alleges that BJP workers under the leadership of Soumitra Banerjee have been attacked several times. He is also accused of being involved in the violence that occurred at Raniganj College during the elections. The BJP alleges that he is involved not only in political violence but also in spreading anarchy in its affiliated educational institutions. The BJP has demanded action against the accused and the filing of cases against those involved in the incident.
