The blockbuster film Dhurandhar continues to dominate the box office even nearly 50 days after its release, having reportedly crossed ₹1,300 crore worldwide. Riding on this massive success, the makers have begun full-scale preparations for Dhurandhar 2, which is scheduled to release on March 19.

Director Aditya Dhar is currently working on the trailer and finalizing key details, including the runtime of the sequel. One notable detail revealed is that Akshaye Khanna, who played the role of the dacoit Rehman in the first part, will appear only in flashback sequences in the sequel.

The biggest update, however, is the confirmation that Ranveer Singh will be joined by Vicky Kaushal in Dhurandhar 2. This has sparked excitement among fans, who are eager to know whether Vicky Kaushal will reprise his popular role as Major Vihaan Shergill from Uri: The Surgical Strike.

According to a report by Mid-Day, Aditya Dhar is planning to create a larger cinematic universe. Although the timelines of Uri and Dhurandhar differ significantly, the director has reportedly designed a narrative track that connects the two films. It is believed that Vicky Kaushal has already filmed his portions for Dhurandhar 2 before the release of the first part, and these scenes may appear as a cameo or special action sequence.

At this stage, it is not clear whether the characters played by Ranveer Singh and Vicky Kaushal will directly interact on screen. However, these developments are said to be the foundation for a potential spin-off in the future.

Fans have also noticed an interesting link between Dhurandhar and Uri. Ranveer Singh’s character in Dhurandhar is named Jaskirat Singh Rangi—the same name as the martyred husband of Flight Lieutenant Seerat Kaur in Uri, a character portrayed by Kirti Kulhari. This subtle connection has further fueled speculation about a shared universe.
