A tragic incident from Delhi has shocked the city, where a 16-year-old student took his own life on Wednesday at Rajendra Place Metro Station in West Delhi. According to officials, the boy jumped in front of an approaching train. A suicide note recovered from him accused several school teachers of mentally harassing him.

Police revealed that the teen’s note also stated his wish to donate his organs after death. In the letter, he mentioned the names of a few teachers, alleging that their constant mental torture had pushed him to this extreme step.

According to the police, the student left home saying he was going to his drama club and then stepped in front of a train at around 2:34 p.m. Passengers at the station immediately alerted authorities and rushed him to a nearby hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival.

Speaking to the media, the boy’s father said, “My son was very unhappy with how he was treated at school.” The suicide note also mentioned that the family had repeatedly approached the school administration about the boy’s mental stress, but no action was taken.

Investigation underway
The Delhi Police have sent the body for post-mortem and have begun questioning the teachers named in the suicide note. Investigators are also speaking with the student’s family and classmates to understand the nature of the alleged harassment that may have led to his death.

Father was out of town
In his complaint, the father said he lives with his family in Rajendra Nagar and runs a jewellery business in Karol Bagh. His son, a Class 10 student at a reputed school, often complained about the school authorities. On Wednesday, the father was in Kolhapur for his mother’s surgery. Around 2:45 p.m., he received a call informing him that his son had fallen from the Rajendra Place Metro Station and had been taken to BLK Hospital. Family members rushed to the hospital, only to learn that the boy had passed away.
