A tragic incident unfolded in the national capital when a 16-year-old student died by suicide at the Rajendra Place Metro Station in West Delhi. The boy reportedly jumped in front of an arriving train on Wednesday afternoon. A suicide note recovered from him accused several school teachers of subjecting him to mental harassment.

According to the police, the teen also expressed in his note that he wished to donate his organs after his death. He listed the names of the teachers he believed had caused him immense emotional distress.

The student had reportedly told his family that he was heading to his drama club before leaving home. At around 2:34 p.m., he jumped onto the tracks as a train approached. Passengers rushed to help and immediately took him to a nearby hospital, where doctors later declared him dead.

The boy’s father told the media that his son had long been unhappy with the way he was treated at school. According to him, the family had repeatedly raised concerns about the child’s mental health and the alleged behaviour of the teachers, but the school authorities did not act.

Police have sent the body for a post-mortem examination and are now questioning the teachers named in the suicide note. Investigators are also speaking with the student’s friends and family to understand the nature of the harassment he may have suffered.

In his complaint, the father said the family lives in Rajendra Nagar, and he runs a jewellery business in Karol Bagh. His son was a Class 10 student at a reputed school. On the day of the incident, the father had travelled to Kolhapur for his mother’s surgery when he received a call around 2:45 p.m. informing him that his son had fallen from the Rajendra Place Metro Station and was admitted to BL Cooper Hospital. The family rushed there, only to learn of the 16-year-old’s death.
