DA Hike: Jackpot for government employees! Two dearness allowances approved simultaneously; increased salaries will be credited to your account on this day

Good news has arrived for government employees in Telangana ahead of Dussehra. The state government has reportedly approved two installments of dearness allowance (DA). This decision will increase employees' salaries and provide them with their arrears of dearness allowance. Therefore, it is expected that employees who have been waiting for a DA increase for a long time will find relief.

According to reports, the Telangana government has approved two installments of dearness allowance (DA)
for January 2024 and July 2024. It is reported that the benefits of this increase will be reflected in the salary for October 2026. Since the October salary will be credited to employees' bank accounts on November 1, 2026, they will be eligible for the increased DA.

Additionally, it is reported that employees will also receive their DA arrears from that period. However, employees should check the government's official order for the actual distribution and schedule of arrears.

The two DA installments will impose a significant financial burden on the Telangana government's coffers. According to available reports, this decision will result in an additional annual expenditure of ₹3,057 crore
. Of this, ₹1,747 crore is expected for the January 2024 installment, while ₹1,310 crore is expected for the July 2024 installment.

Which employees will benefit?
Furthermore, this decision is not limited to regular government employees, but will also benefit other eligible employee categories. This includes:

1. Employees with UGC and AICTE pay scales.

2. Eligible employees of District and Mandal Council.

3. Regular pay scale employees of local bodies including municipalities.

4. Full-time contingent employees.

Overall, this decision by the Telangana government is expected to benefit eligible employees with increased dearness allowance and arrears. However, the official government order from the relevant department should be checked for the actual benefit amount, applicable conditions, and deposit date.
