Cinema Ka Flashback: Parents are the world of their children. They dedicate their lives to their children. But when it comes to giving them back their love and companionship, often the children, intoxicated with success, turn their back on them. Something similar was done by a Bollywood beauty named Antara Mali. When she saw her father on the road, she did not even help him. Salman Khan even criticized her for this.

Bollywood is known for glamour, stardom and memorable performances. But it is also a world full of heartbreak and unfulfilled dreams. Not everyone's dreams are fulfilled here. Something similar happened with Antara Mali. An actress who won the hearts of critics with her talent and charisma, but eventually disappeared from the industry. Often compared to Urmila Matondkar, Antara's journey in Bollywood started with great expectations.

Antara, daughter of famous photographer Jagdish Mali, started her career in 1988 with the film "Dhoondhte Reh Jaoge". Her strong acting and impressive presence immediately caught the attention of popular director Ram Gopal Varma. He immediately agreed to work with Antara.

Recognizing her potential, Ram Gopal Varma cast Antara in several famous films. Her films under his direction include Prem Katha (Telugu), Mast (1999), Road (2002), Company (2002), in which she played Ajay Devgn's wife, Darna Mana Hai (2003), and Naach (2004) with Abhishek Bachchan.

Of these, her performance in "Main Madhuri Dixit Banna Chahti Hoon" was loved by everyone. This film was a tribute to Madhuri. Despite receiving critical acclaim, the film did not have the expected success. Despite Ram Gopal Varma's help, Antara faced continuous failures in films.

Many of the actress's projects failed to do well at the box office, and by 2010, she decided to stay away from the limelight. Her departure left fans and industry experts shocked as to how such a talented actress could suddenly say goodbye to Bollywood. After this, she made headlines due to controversies.

In 2013, Antara was embroiled in a controversy when actress Mink Brar accused her of abandoning her father Jagdish Mali even after finding him unconscious on the streets of Versova. At the time, Antara was pregnant and clarified that her father's occasional blackouts were due to diabetes and not any mental illness. She also accused Mink of using the situation for publicity. Meanwhile, Jagdish Mali passed away a few months later.

After his death, Salman Khan had issued a statement criticising the actress at that time. Salman had said that your father is seen walking semi-naked on the road, and you are saying that he does not need help... then you tell me who needs help?"

He further said that "When I got this message, I tried to contact some people. It is easy to help someone. Talking about the photographer, Salman said that Jagdish Mali was a very big photographer. We had to work hard to get a photoshoot done with him.

Since leaving the industry, Antara has stayed away from the limelight. She has never been seen in interviews or public events. Though her film career was short, her performances have been memorable, and she is remembered as one of Bollywood's most promising talents whose journey ended unexpectedly.
