Thousands of users across the world, including India, complained of being unable to log in, receiving no replies, and old chats not loading. This left many users stranded.
ChatGPT faces technical glitch, trouble loading old chats
The outage monitoring platform Downdetector has seen a large number of complaints regarding ChatGPT from several countries, including India and the United States. The number of complaints in the United States has reached over 36,000, while in India, 3,410 complaints had been registered as of 8:23 p.m.
According to the report, approximately 81 percent of users reported problems using ChatGPT, with 8 percent reporting login issues and approximately 6 percent reporting website-related issues.
Many users reported that they were unable to get answers after asking questions on ChatGPT. Some were unable to log into their accounts, while for others, old chats were not loading.
User complaints on Downdetector increased during the technical glitch in ChatGPT.
Thousands of users also filed complaints against Claude.
Along with ChatGPT, a large number of users also reported issues with the AI platform Cloud. Downdetector recorded over 37,000 complaints about Cloud in the US, while users in India also reported service outages.
According to the report, nearly 50 percent of complaints were related to the use of Cloud Code. 24 percent reported issues with Cloud Chat, while approximately 19 percent were related to the app itself.
Claude's company, Anthropic, also reported a technical issue on its status website. The company said it was working to fix the problem.
Users in many countries including India also complained about technical problems regarding Cloud.
Technical problems also surfaced in Grok
Meanwhile, users also reported issues with Elon Musk's AI chatbot, Grok. Downdetector also saw an increase in complaints related to Grok.
Many users reported problems using the AI service and a lack of response times. Grok also confirmed the technical issue and stated that they are working to restore service as soon as possible.
OpenAI provides an update on ChatGPT issues
OpenAI's status website reported a technical issue with ChatGPT Work Mode on Thursday. The company stated that the error rate was higher than normal. It later reported that the issue had been fixed.
Anthropic also reported increased errors in some Claude models. The company stated that it had identified the cause of the problem and was working on a fix.
Why did multiple AI services face problems simultaneously?
Despite user complaints appearing at ChatGPT, Claude and Grok around the same time, there was no immediate confirmation of a direct link between the incidents.
