There's important news for students appearing for the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) Class 10 and Class 12 exams. As the exam dates draw closer, students are becoming increasingly anxious about their admit cards. It's expected that the CBSE will release high school and intermediate hall tickets in the first week of February 2026. Once the admit cards are released, students will be able to view them on the board's official website, cbse.gov.in. Admit cards for private students have already been released on January 19th.
When will the admit cards be issued?
If we look at the pattern of previous years, CBSE released the admit cards on February 3rd in 2025. Based on this, it is estimated that the admit cards for the 2026 exams could be released sometime between February 7th and 10th. Since the exams are scheduled to begin on February 17th, students have very little time left to finalize their preparations.
Admit card will be available from the school itself
One important thing all students should keep in mind is that regular students cannot download their admit card directly from the website. Although the admit card link is available on the official website, only the school principal or authorized official will be able to download it using their login credentials. The school will then print your admit card, affixing the principal's signature and school stamp, and hand it to you. Admit cards without the school stamp and signature are not valid.
What information will be there in the admit card?
When you receive your admit card, carefully review the information on it. It will include the student's name, parent's name, roll number, date of birth, exam name and subject, exam date and time, and the complete address of the exam center. It will also contain a passport-sized photograph of yourself.
Some important rules for the examination hall
CBSE has clarified that no student will be allowed to enter the examination center without an admit card. It is mandatory to carry your school ID card along with the admit card. To avoid any confusion on exam day, students are advised to make a photocopy of their admit card immediately after receiving it and keep it safe. For more information, students can contact their school teachers or principal.
