BYD India has officially revised the pricing for its acclaimed electric SUV, the Sealion 7, effective from January 1, 2026. While the cost of entry has increased, the vehicle continues to be a top contender in the premium EV space, having already surpassed 2,300 units in sales since its debut last year.

Selective Price Revision

The price adjustment specifically targets the entry-level trim. BYD has chosen to keep the cost of the high-performance variant unchanged to maintain its competitive edge against rivals like the Kia EV6 and Hyundai IONIQ 5.

• Sealion 7 Premium: Now ₹49.40 Lakh (up from ₹48.90 Lakh).

• Sealion 7 Performance: Remains steady at ₹54.90 Lakh.

• Early-Bird Protection: In a move to support its existing customers, BYD is honoring the original prices for all bookings made on or before December 31, 2025.

Performance and Long-Distance Capability

Despite the price change, the Sealion 7’s technical specifications remain world-class. Built on BYD’s advanced Cell-to-Body (CTB) architecture and utilizing the proprietary 82.56 kWh Blade Battery, the SUV is designed for both endurance and safety.

• Range: It offers a certified NEDC range of up to 567 km on a full charge.

• Acceleration: The Performance variant (AWD) can sprint from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds, while the Premium variant (RWD) completes it in 6.7 seconds.

• Safety: The vehicle holds a prestigious 5-star Euro NCAP safety rating.

Strategic Growth in 2026

Rajeev Chauhan, Head of Electric Passenger Vehicles at BYD India, noted that the revision reflects "evolving cost dynamics" and a commitment to infrastructure.

"The Sealion 7 has earned its place as a reliable choice in the premium segment. This adjustment allows us to continue investing in technology and our growing network of 47 showrooms across 40 cities," Chauhan stated.
