A video of BJP MP Bansuri Swaraj walking away during the national anthem has gone viral on social media, sparking controversy. Congress leaders accused her of insulting the anthem, claiming she left midway.
Responding to the allegations, Bansuri Swaraj clarified that the video being circulated is incomplete and misleading. She explained that she had stepped forward only to request that the national anthem be sung in its entirety and correctly.
Sharing the complete footage on her social media handle, Swaraj wrote, “An incomplete video is being circulated on social media. The truth is, I requested that the national anthem be sung in full and correctly. This is the full video where we sang the entire national anthem with pride and respect.”
Congress leader Surendra Rajpur had earlier shared the truncated clip, alleging disrespect. He demanded that Prime Minister Narendra Modi take action and even suggested that failure to act would mean “two constitutions” were being followed — one for ordinary citizens and another for BJP members.
