Important news has emerged regarding gas cylinder regulations. Gas cylinder regulations are expected to change in the country starting in May. These changes will impact everything from booking to delivery. Specifically, customers will now be required to provide the OTP received on their registered mobile number to the delivery agent.
The government has taken a new step to improve the delivery of gas cylinders. All regulations related to LPG cylinders will come into effect from May 1st. Learn about the new rules.
Changes in booking rules
Necessary changes have been made to the rules for booking gas cylinders. After booking, customers in urban areas will have to wait 25 days for their gas cylinders, while those in rural areas will have to wait 45 days. Therefore, citizens should use gas cylinders with caution.
OTP-based delivery
Gas cylinder delivery will now be OTP-based. Customers will need to provide the OTP received on their registered mobile number to the delivery agent. This will ensure the cylinder is delivered to the correct address.
E-KYC is mandatory
E-KYC has been made mandatory for gas cylinders. Therefore, you will only receive LPG benefits and subsidies after completing your Aadhaar e-KYC. If you don't complete e-KYC, you may face difficulties in obtaining a gas cylinder.
Gas cylinder prices will increase
Gas cylinder prices are expected to rise starting in May. Domestic gas cylinder prices are expected to increase by ₹60. It is believed that further tensions between Iran and the United States could lead to higher gas prices.
Appeal to use PNG gas
The government is urging people to use PNG gas instead of LPG cylinders. Free gas worth ₹500 is also being offered with a PNG connection.
Booking just got easier
The process of booking a gas cylinder has been simplified. You can now book a gas cylinder using a variety of methods. You can book via WhatsApp, SMS, missed call, IVRS, mobile app, or website. However, you must book using your registered mobile number.
