BCCI got a new sponsor, Apollo Tyres will pay Rs 47700000 for one match, deal worth so many crores

BCCI announces Apollo Tyres as new Lead Sponsor: The BCCI announced Apollo Tyres as the New Jersey sponsor of the Indian cricket team. The deal, worth ₹579 crore, runs until March 2028, which is larger than Dream11's previous ₹358 crore deal.

BCCI announce Apollo Tyres as new Lead Sponsor: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Tuesday announced the new jersey sponsor for the Indian cricket team. After the exit of online gaming platform Dream11, Apollo Tyres has now taken over this big responsibility for a period of two and a half years. Due to the 'Online Gaming Act 2025' implemented by the government, Dream11 had to shut down its real money games, due to which BCCI had to find a new sponsor. The deal is worth Rs 579 crore, which is much bigger than Dream11's previous deal. Now the logo of Apollo Tyres will be seen on the jersey of the Indian men's and women's cricket team till March 2028. This agreement is not only from an economic point of view but also a symbol of the growing popularity of Indian cricket.

Dream 11 is out

The previous jersey sponsor of the Indian cricket team, Dream11, recently had to back out due to the new law of the government. Any kind of real money online gaming was banned in the 'Online Gaming Act 2025'. In such a situation, Dream11 stopped all its cash games and BCCI was left without a jersey sponsor. The Indian team entered the Asia Cup 2025 without any major sponsor. After this, the BCCI started a new bidding process and made it clear that companies like money gaming, crypto; betting, tobacco and alcohol will not be allowed to participate in it.

Apollo Tyres won trust

After a tough bidding process, Apollo Tyres finally won the rights to become the jersey sponsor of the Indian cricket team. This is Apollo Tyres' first major deal with Indian cricket. The company called it a strategic move and said that cricket is the most popular sport in India and it is an honour for them to be associated with it. BCCI also called it a historic partnership and said that this is not just a business agreement but a union of two big institutions, which are trusted by crores of people.

Terms and financial aspects of the agreement

The duration of this deal has been fixed for two and a half years, which will run till March 2028. Under the agreement, the logo of Apollo Tyres will appear on the jersey of the Indian men's and women's team in all formats. This includes 121 bilateral matches and 21 ICC matches. This deal is also big from the economic point of view because Dream 11 had signed a deal of Rs 358 crore for the same period, while Apollo Tyres' deal is worth Rs 579 crore. If seen from this figure, BCCI will get about Rs 5 crore for one match. This not only shows the increase in sponsorship value but also shows that the brand value of Indian cricket is constantly increasing.

Indian company with global presence

Headquartered in Gurugram, Haryana, Apollo Tyres operates large manufacturing facilities in India and Europe. Internationally, it is considered one of the leading companies in the tire industry. The association with the Indian cricket team will be an opportunity for the company to further strengthen its brand. Significantly, Apollo Tyres had never previously signed a major deal with Indian cricket, so this partnership will be a new chapter for them.

BCCI's strategy and the way forward

BCCI secretary Devjit Saikia called this partnership historic and said that it is not just a sponsorship but a relationship of trust between Indian cricket and Apollo Tyres. He called it a step that will earn the respect of millions of fans. This announcement has been made before the BCCI's Annual General Meeting (AGM), in which elections will be held for the new president. In such a situation, this partnership will further strengthen the business strategy of BCCI. In the coming years, this agreement will not only benefit Indian cricket financially but will also further elevate its credibility on the international stage.
