Bank Holiday Alert: Banks to Remain Closed for Four Days This Week; Check Dates and Cities Affected

Bank customers are advised to plan their financial activities in advance as multiple holidays this week will lead to bank closures across several cities. According to the latest bank holiday schedule, a combination of festival holidays and the weekend will result in up to four consecutive non-working days in many regions.

The first major holiday falls on March 26 (Thursday) on account of Ram Navami, which will be observed in several cities including Ahmedabad, Belapur, Chandigarh, Dehradun, Jaipur, Kanpur, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, Nagpur, Ranchi, and Shimla. Banks in these locations will remain closed for the day, and no in-branch services will be available.

The following day, March 27 (Friday), will also see bank closures in select cities due to Ram Navami or related regional observances such as Chaitra Dashain. Banking operations will remain suspended in Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Gangtok, Hyderabad, Patna, and Vijayawada on this day.

The holiday sequence continues with March 28 (Saturday), which is the fourth Saturday of the month—a scheduled bank holiday nationwide. This is followed by Sunday, March 29, when banks remain closed as per the usual weekly off.

As a result, customers in many cities will face four consecutive days of bank closures from Thursday to Sunday. It is therefore important to complete essential banking tasks in advance to avoid inconvenience during this period.

Additionally, another bank holiday is scheduled on March 31 on the occasion of Mahavir Jayanti. Banking services will also be unavailable on April 1 due to annual account closing activities, meaning customers may face further disruptions. With several holidays already observed this month for festivals like Holi and Eid, individuals are encouraged to manage their financial transactions proactively to avoid last-minute difficulties.
