According to the information received from the temple management, this year Argha will start on the full moon date of the month of Ashadha i.e. July 10 and Sparsh Puja will stop. This Argha system remains from Ashadha Purnima to Sawan Purnima.

When was Argha started?

Day by day, the crowd of devotees is increasing for the worship of Lord Shiva in the Baidyanath temple. To avoid any accident in this crowd, Argha was used for the first time in the year 2012 on the day of Basant Panchami. After the Argha system was successful, it started being installed in every Sawan from that year onwards.

To deal with the crowd of devotees in the month of Saavan, one Argha is installed outside the sanctum sanctorum of the main temple, along with two external Arghaas. That is, devotees like children, old people, or women who cannot go to the sanctum sanctorum by standing in a long queue, can offer water to the Shivalinga of Baidyanath temple through the external Arghaa. These external Arghaas are installed on the temple premises itself.
