Awarapan 2 Final Schedule Locked: Emraan Hashmi & Disha Patani Head to Malaysia

After a brief halt due to an injury suffered by Emraan Hashmi, the shooting of Awarapan 2 is officially back on track. The makers have locked the film’s next and final shooting schedule, which will take place in Malaysia.

According to Box Office Worldwide, Emraan Hashmi will resume shooting this week, with the Malaysia schedule expected to wrap up in approximately three weeks. Disha Patani will also be part of this final leg. Most of the film has already been shot, and only the foreign backdrop sequences remain.

Shooting Resumes After 20-Day Halt

The shoot had been stalled for nearly 20 days following Emraan Hashmi’s injury. Despite the delay, the makers are keeping tight control over the film’s details, with no plot information revealed so far.

The sequel is being directed by Nitin Kakkar and produced under the banner of Vishesh Films.

Release Date Still Uncertain

A teaser had earlier confirmed an April 3 release for Awarapan 2. However, given the shooting disruption, it remains to be seen whether the film will stick to its planned release date.

The Cult Legacy of Awarapan

The original Awarapan, released in 2007, failed at the box office despite being made on a reported budget of ₹18 crore and earning around ₹12 crore worldwide. Over the years, however, the film achieved cult romantic status and built a loyal fanbase, which fueled long-standing demand for a sequel.

Directed by Mohit Suri, the original starred Emraan Hashmi alongside Shriya Saran, Mrinalini Sharma, Purab Kohli, Ashutosh Rana, and Shaad Randhawa.
