Avoid These Mistakes While Trying to Slim Your Waist — Tamannaah Bhatia’s Coach Shares Key Fitness Tips

Fitness awareness has grown rapidly in recent years, and everyone today dreams of having a fit, toned body. Social media is full of celebrity workout inspiration, and the desire for a slim waist and flat tummy has become a major fitness goal, especially among young people.

However, in the race to achieve quick results, many people follow the wrong workouts or diets — which can harm the body instead of helping it.

Actress Tamannaah Bhatia, known for her fitness and glowing appearance, has been consistently working out under the guidance of her boyfriend and fitness coach Siddharth Singh. Recently, Siddharth shared some important insights on exercises that might actually ruin your body shape instead of improving it.

Siddharth Singh’s Fitness Advice

Siddharth, who regularly shares workout and wellness videos on Instagram, has revealed three popular core exercises that people often do incorrectly — or shouldn’t do at all. He explains that these moves can cause neck strain, back pain, and even make the waist appear thicker instead of slimmer.

1. Sit-Ups

According to Siddharth, sit-ups are one of the most overrated exercises for core strengthening.
He explains that while many believe sit-ups help tone the abs, they actually put unnecessary strain on the neck and upper back. Over time, this can lead to pain or injury without offering much benefit to your core muscles.

2. Russian Twists

The second exercise to avoid, Siddharth says, is the Russian twist. Despite being popular for targeting obliques, it puts excessive pressure on the lower back and can cause pain or injury.
He adds that it’s also a time-consuming move that doesn’t offer enough return on effort when it comes to core toning.

3. Side Bends

The third and most common mistake is doing side bends to slim the waist. Siddharth explains that this exercise actually works the oblique muscles, causing them to grow and make the waist appear wider, not slimmer.
Instead, he recommends doing side planks, dead bugs, and the Pallof press — exercises that strengthen the core safely and effectively.

💪 Better Alternatives for a Slim, Strong Waist

To truly achieve a toned waist and strong core, Siddharth suggests focusing on controlled movements and posture-based exercises rather than fast repetitions. Balanced nutrition, hydration, and regular stretching are equally important.
